In 2015 our best friends taught us how to play Mexican Train dominoes and our local Train Gang was formed.  While enthusiastic about the game, I looked with disbelief at these uninteresting and unimaginative small plastic markers.  Surely I could make a more attractive and interesting Mexican Train marker that wasn't molded plastic.

 

     Surrounded by glass in my studio, I began looking at the myriad of mosaic tiles in a new light.   In 2016 the Original 12 colored set of Mexican Train Markers (photo right) as created with love and gifted to my father who recently passed away.  My invention was a hit.  Soon I was making original and themed sets for friends and family with their support and encouragement.  

 

     It was clear my hobby turned into an obsession when I started dismantling my costume jewelry to make trains from the beads! Mexican Train Depot markers are made, when possible, from recycled or repurposed beads, jewelry, mosaic tiles, cabochons, buttons, or charms.  Trains are predominately made from glass but may also include a variety of medium: gemstones, jewels, rock, clay, wood, bone, metal, quality resin, or whatever suits my fancy at the time. 

 

     Original train sets are typically available in sets of 4 or more.  Themed, unique collectable sets are available as well or can be special ordered by color or subject.   Contact customer care for more information.  On occasion, you may find individual masterpiece trains offered or specific sets such as the bride and groom.
